For 2026, businesses can immediately deduct up to $2,560,000 of qualifying new or used construction equipment purchases, rather than depreciating them over time. The deduction begins to phase out after $4,090,000 in total purchases and ends completely at $6,650,000.
In addition, 100% bonus depreciation is generally available after Section 179 is applied for qualified equipment placed in service during 2026. To qualify, equipment must be used more than 50% for business and placed in service by December 31, 2026.
